One Nation under God

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We come together in prayer and solidarity as we process the shocking news of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

Our thoughts and prayers are with him, his family, and all those affected by this senseless act of violence. As Catholics, we are called to pray for the healing and recovery of former President Trump, for the other victims, and to reject all forms of violence and hatred. We are reminded of Jesus’ teaching to “love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.” (Matthew 5:44).

Let us come together in this moment of uncertainty and fear, and choose to respond with faith, hope, and charity. May our prayers and actions be guided by the values of our faith, and may we work towards a world where respect, dignity, and life are cherished and upheld.

Let us pray for former President Trump’s recovery, for the victim families, for peace and unity in our nation, and for an end to violence and hatred in all its forms.

May God bless and protect us all.

In Prayer,
Fr Anthony Huong Le
