Jubilee Year 2025 – Pilgrims of Hope

Office of the Bishop

In 2025, the Catholic Church will observe a Jubilee Year with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” This Holy Year, inaugurated by Pope Francis, invites the faithful to embark on a spiritual journey, renewing their faith and commitment to God’s guidance.

The Jubilee began on December 24, 2024, with the opening of the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica, symbolizing a passage to salvation and a call to reconciliation. For the first time, a Holy Door was also opened at Rome’s Rebibbia prison, extending the message of hope and renewal to the incarcerated.

Throughout this year, the Church encourages all believers to participate in pilgrimages, acts of charity, and penance, fostering a deeper connection with their faith and with one another. The Jubilee serves as a reminder of the enduring hope found in Christ and the unity of the global Catholic community.
