This week’s Gospel comes from Matthew 4:12-23 where Jesus said to Simon, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
At once they left their nets and followed him.

Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” We usually think repentance means turning from sinfulness toward God. And, indeed, this is the point of the first reading. The gospel, however, suggests another meaning: repentance means to change.
