Located at the western end of the parish gathering area near Mission Blvd and across St Joseph Terrace from the church, our St Joseph the Worker statue has stood at this location since 1980.

The bronze plaque below the statue has the following dedication:  “San José Obrero, Saint Joseph the Worker, In Memory of Father John Francis Williams 1928-1977, Pastor of Mission San José 1968-1977, Dedicated June 1980.”

St Joseph the Worker was blessed by Oakland Bishop Michael C. Barber, SJ on March 19, 2021 during a ceremony rededicating the parish to St Joseph. The statue is lit at night.
