Sunday April 28th, members from the Islamic Center of Fremont
came to St. Joseph bearing flowers and a letter expressing their condolence and solidarity in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka.
They have extended an invitation to attend an Interfaith Service at the Islamic Center of Fremont on May 18th. Their letter reads as follows:
The Islamic Center of Fremont and the Muslim Community of Fremont are deeply disturbed and dismayed at the horrific event of violence and terror committed against peace-loving families gathered to celebrate Easter on Sunday morning in Sri Lanka. We stand in solidarity with the friends and families of the deceased, injured and all other affected by this act of hatred and terror. We stand for religious tolerance and harmony. We stand against hatred and religious intolerance. We respect, value and support yours and all other faiths. With the universal love that binds us all, forever your friends, Islamic Center of Fremont
