I thank God that I was called to St. Joseph Parish four years ago to minister to the children and families in our St Joseph Faith Formation program. It has been a great blessing and tremendous joy for me.
When I first came to St. Joseph Parish, I became captivated by the name, “Mission San Jose.” Right away, I came to see that I was here not just to take care of the Faith Formation Program, but I was here to continue carrying out the Special Mission that God had entrusted to our beloved Saint Joseph. That mission has been carried out by many dedicated people here at St. Joseph parish for more than two centuries (since 1797). I was and still am fascinated by this great mission. As I would drive here each day and exit the 680 freeway and take the Mission Blvd exit to St. Joseph Parish, I was always reminded that, “I am here on earth for a reason, and at this time in my life I am called to carry out the Mission of Saint Joseph with all the wonderful people at St. Joseph community.” This new perspective has given me a bigger vision and an inner joy. It really has opened my heart to learn, pray, grow and carry out the ministry here at St. Joseph parish these past four years to the best of my ability.
Now my Religious Congregation has assigned me the position of Vocation Director of our Congregation to reach out and help young women discern their call to a vocation and to help with the formation of our young sisters. I humbly ask you to keep me and our young people in your daily prayers so that our youth and young adults today will continually seek God and dedicate their lives to serve God and the Church, especially, those called to the priesthood and religious life. Thank you for your prayers. Be assured that I will keep you in my prayers as well.
I will be here at St. Joseph Parish until the end of July. Sister Bernadette Yen Nguyen, L.H.C. (Lovers of the Holy Cross) will take my place as the Faith Formation Coordinator effective August 1, 2018. She is very excited to start her journey with you here at St. Joseph Parish. Please give her your warm welcome when you see her.
As I am taking on my new ministry, I want to express my deep gratitude to Father Manny
, our wonderful pastor, and each one of you for your warm welcome, love, prayers and support during my past four years here at St. Joseph Parish. Thank you to all our priests, deacons, sisters, staff, catechists, teachers, parents, children, friends from special needs programs, all members of different ministries and all of you parishioners for ministering with me and to me, and for allowing me to minister to you while I have been here. It has been a great blessing for me in praising, worshiping and honoring God at Masses, parish events and different ministries with all of you. You have given me wonderful memories and experiences that have enriched my life in many ways. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
I pray that your life will be enriched and transformed for the glory of God as you continue to carry out the Mission of Saint Joseph that has been entrusted to you. May God bless you and watch over you and your loved ones.
With love and God’s blessings,
