Sunday, April 11, 7:30 p.m. The Tri-City? Interfaith Council will hold the 27th Annual Holocaust Remembrance Day Service at Temple Beth Torah, 42000 Paseo Padre Parkway (corner of Mento Drive), Fremont, on Sunday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m. The featured speaker will be Ralph Samuel. Mr. Samuel was born in Dresden and, at the tender age of 7½, he was sent sent alone to England on the “Kindertransport.” All are welcome to this special educational event and service of remembrance. A free-will offering will be received. Please also consider bringing refreshments to share after the program.

In these months between Kristallnacht (November 9-10, 1938) and the start of World War II, nearly 10,000 children were sent, without their parents, out of Nazi Germany, Austria , Poland , and Czechoslovakia to safety in Great Britain. These children were saved by the Kindertransport rescue movement. Mr. Samuel will speak about this under-told aspect of the Holocaust.
