COME AND SEE!

RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Do you ever ask yourself...
  • What is the meaning of my life?
  • How can I become a part of something bigger than myself?
  • How can I be a better person?
  • Does God have something to say to me?

Come and see as we explore the answers to these and many other questions like them. For almost 2000 years, people have turned to the Catholic Church to enrich their lives. Through the Sacraments of Initiation, Jesus Christ offers a life that is everlasting; a life beyond this one. Come and see! Join us and begin your journey through the RCIA. Inquiry Sessions are ongoing.

If you or if you know of anyone who is interested in the Catholic way of life, invite them to come and see! For more information, please call the RCIA office at 510.270.8051 or send an email to rciastjoseph@yahoo.com. Come and see!

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults for Children

Seeking the Sacraments of Baptism and Eucharist for your child (under age 17)? The RCIA’s Children’s Catechumenate is the process for a child becoming Catholic. Parents or guardians should contact the Faith Formation office by calling 510.657.0905 or email Sister Bernadette at bernadettestjoseph2018@gmail.com or Grace Lichauco at gracestjoseph@yahoo.com.

But what if I’m already Catholic but I just need Confirmation to complete my initiation?

If this describes you and you are an adult (over 18 years of age), St. Joseph Parish offers a 4-week program to prepare you for the Sacrament of Confirmation! These sessions offer in-depth knowledge of the four pillars of our faith: our Belief as expressed in our Creed (holding on to faith), the Sacraments (expressing our faith), our Way of Life (living faith), and Prayer (praying faith). The reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is held at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland in early February (date to be determined). For more information, please call please 510.270.8051 or email adultconfirmationsjmsj@gmail.com about this transformative program!
