Our Diocese has set up a page to assist Parishes with online donations. Please consider supporting our Parish during this difficult time.

Please choose "St. Joseph, Fremont" if you would like to donate electronically.
Your donations go to help assist our Parish, parishioners, clergy and staff during these uncertain times and we thank you so much for your assistance. In addition, we do still receive mail throughout the week, so if you would like to mail your donation via check please make them payable to St. Joseph Parish and send to:

On Racism

From Bishop Shelton Fabre of the USCCB on the Death of George Floyd: Click here for Bishop Shelton's Message

Prayer to Overcome Racism
Mary, friend and mother to all,
through your Son, God has found a way
to unite himself to every human being,
called to be one people,
sisters and brothers to each other.
We ask for your help in calling on your Son,
seeking forgiveness for the times when
we have failed to love and respect one another.
We ask for your help in obtaining from your Son
the grace we need to overcome the evil of racism
and to build a just society.
We ask for your help in following your Son,
so that prejudice and animosity
will no longer infect our minds or hearts
but will be replaced with a love that respects
the dignity of each person.
Mother of the Church,
the Spirit of your Son Jesus
warms our hearts: pray for us.

OPEN Wide Our Hearts
The following is a Pastoral Letter, Open Wide Our Hearts, from the USCCB released in 2018. It is 32 pages long and was created to help combat the life issue of racism. Click here for the Letter on Racism: Open Wide Our Hearts
More information to combat racism can be found at: www.usccb.org/racism

Statements regarding the Recent Tragic Death of George Floyd
Please continue to pray for all who have been touched by this tragedy, for a quick response from leaders to affect change, for an end to racism in our country, and for justice to be served to those who would destroy human life in such a callous way.

Stations of the Cross: Overcoming Racism

The bishops of the California Catholic Conference released this video reenacting the Stations of the Cross to draw attention to the sin of racism and ask God’s help in eliminating it. Each station in the video was taped at a location with rich racial significance. The sixth Station of the Cross was taped at the Fruitvale BART station in Oakland where Oscar Grant was killed. The Way of the Cross is an ancient prayer, allowing people to enter into Jesus’ final outpouring of love. Please join us in praying for a conversion of hearts and minds in our love for our sisters and brothers.

St. Joseph Parish Masses - both current and previously recorded

Unfortunately due to the latest directive from the Governor of the State of California, Alameda County officials, and Bishop Barber, we must hold Masses outside until further notice. Our first priority is the health and safety of our parishioners and community. For details about upcoming Masses, please see the Mass Schedules.

We will continue our Sunday livestream Mass each week at 11 a.m. Our main church will also be open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for private prayer. Thank you for your faithful support and understanding.

Previous livestream Masses from Saint Joseph Parish are still available to view. Click on a link below to see the most recent Liturgy page as well as archives of previous Mass pages.

Special Prayers

O Mary, you always brighten our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who, at the Cross, took part in Jesus’ pain while remaining steadfast in faith. O loving Mother, you know what we need, and we are confident you will provide for us as at Cana in Galilee. Intercede for us with your Son Jesus, the Divine Physician, for those who have fallen ill, for those who are vulnerable, and for those who have died. Intercede also for those charged with protecting the health and safety of others and for those who are tending to the sick and seeking a cure. Help us, O Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who took upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows, so as to lead us, through the Cross, to the glory of the Resurrection. Amen.
Under thy protection we seek refuge, O Holy Mother of God. In our needs, despise not our petitions, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
- Adapted from the prayer of Pope Francis

A Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament.
I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul.
Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if you were already there, and unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph for a Special Intention
Glorious Saint Joseph, protector of Jesus Christ,
to you I raise my heart and my hands to implore your powerful intercession.
Please obtain for me from the kind Heart of Jesus
the help and the graces necessary for my spiritual and temporal welfare.
I ask particularly for a special favor I now implore.
(Make your petition here...)
Guardian of the Word Incarnate,
I ask with confidence that your prayers on my behalf
will be graciously heard before the throne of God.
O glorious Saint Joseph, through the love you bear to Jesus Christ,
and for the glory of His name, hear our prayers.
